A Federal Capital Territory High Court in Jabi, Abuja, has scheduled February 18, 2026, to decide on a motion filed by the Inspector General of Police, seeking permission for a UK-based Nigerian, Emmanuel Opeyemi, to testify virtually in an alleged visa fraud case.
The case involves Shitta Waliu Aderibigbe and Fanzine Educational Consult, who are accused of providing false information to the British Embassy, claiming Opeyemi was married to Dolapo Afussat Yusuf, which allegedly threatened Opeyemi’s deportation to Nigeria.

Opeyemi, who is battling depression and receiving antidepressant medication, is also challenging his attempted deportation in the UK through an appeal and judicial review. The prosecution argues that Aderibigbe and Fanzine Educational Consult knowingly committed an offence punishable under Section 140 of the Penal Code Act, Laws of Northern Nigeria.
The defendants have pleaded not guilty to the charges and were granted bail for ₦1 million, with two sureties who must be civil servants not below Grade Level 9 and residents of the Federal Capital Territory.
