Latest News: US Visa Update: Fees Remain Non-Refundable

The US Embassy informs Nigerians that visa application fees remain non-refundable, a crucial consideration for those planning travel to the United States. The latest US Visa update indicates significant movement in the October 2025 Visa Bulletin, marking the start of the new fiscal year.

There’s meaningful forward movement across EB-1, EB-2, and EB-3 categories, offering relief and opportunities for 1-485 submissions, particularly for India and China, which have seen advances of several months. EB-1 is current for ROW (Rest of the World), with specific advancements for India (April 15, 2023) and China (May 15, 2023). EB-2 ROW priority dates before July 14, 2025, are eligible, with notable progress for India (December 1, 2013) and China (December 1, 2021). EB-3 advances include China (January 1, 2022 and India (August 15, 2024), with ROW eligible before July 1, 2023. Visa application fees remain non-refundable and non-transferable, as per the US Embassy’s update.
