Ondo State Government has established Diaspora Focal Desks across all 18 Local Government Areas to deepen inclusive engagement and strengthen bonds with its global citizens. This initiative aims to decentralize diaspora engagement, ensuring every LGA benefits directly from global partnerships, development opportunities, and community-driven interventions.
The desks will serve as grassroots liaison points, enhancing communication, data gathering, coordinated outreach, and mobilization of diaspora-led initiatives. Commissioner for Regional Integration and Diaspora Relations, Otunba Wale Akinlosotu, stated that this move aligns with the administration’s OUR EASE vision, building a more connected, prosperous, and participatory Ondo State.
This development positions Ondo State as a leading model in subnational diaspora engagement, joining Enugu, Kano, Cross River, Edo, and the Federal Capital Territory in establishing diaspora structures at the local government level.
