The diaspora groups are advocating for change, urging the government to take concrete steps to address these issues. They are calling for improved funding, equipment, and staffing for foreign missions, clearer immigration guidelines, and stronger digital infrastructure. The Nigeria Immigration Service has announced plans to introduce a Single Travel Emergency Passport (STEP) to help Nigerians abroad with expired, lost, or stolen passports.
