Oreoluwa Odetunde, a University of Lagos alumna, was found dead at her off-campus residence in New York on Thursday, February 5. She was in her first year of a Master of Business Administration programme at Cornell University’s S.C. Johnson College of Business.
Odetunde, who graduated with a degree in Economics from the University of Lagos in 2017, had built a career in investment research and strategy before pursuing her MBA. She was an active member of several student organisations, including the Johnson African Business Society, the Black Graduate Business Association, and the Old Ezra Finance Club.
The Cornell University community has expressed condolences to Odetunde’s family, friends, and colleagues. The S.C. Johnson College of Business held support meetings for its community, and resources were made available for students dealing with grief and loss.
