The Chairman of the Nigerian in Diaspora Commission (NiDCOM) Abike Dabiri-Erewa, has cautioned Nigerians against embarking on dangerous and illegal migration. Speaking at an event commemorating International Human Rights Day, Dabiri-Erewa highlighted the risks involved, citing cases of Nigerians who have lost their lives or been stranded abroad due to irregular migration.

She emphasized that NiDCOM and its partners are working to repatriate stranded Nigerians, including 10,500 children, and urged citizens to invest in opportunities at home rather than risking their lives abroad. Dabiri-Erewa stressed the need for a whole-of-government and whole-of-society approach to prevent future cases of irregular migration.
