NIDCOM has launched a data mapping exercise to gather demographic information on Nigerians abroad, enabling the commission to tailor diaspora-focused initiatives. The commission has also facilitated significant investments from the diaspora, adding to over $90 billion in remittances sent over the past five years.
NIDCOM recognizes and celebrates the achievements of Nigerians abroad through the National Diaspora Merit Award, fostering national pride. The commission provides a platform for diaspora engagement through its quarterly lecture series, promoting investment opportunities and national development.
The commission has resolved over 1,000 petitions from Nigerians abroad, addressing critical concerns and providing support during emergencies. NIDCOM works closely with international organizations and foreign governments to protect the rights and interests of Nigerians in distress.Through its initiatives, NIDCOM is empowering Nigerians abroad to contribute to national development. The commission’s efforts have attracted delegations from nine countries, eager to replicate its model.
