Kenyan authorities have arrested three Nigerian nationals, Peter Chukwujekwu, Alazor Chukulute Sunday, and Nnalue Chiagozie Samwel, for allegedly running a cyber fraud ring and overstaying their visas. The trio was caught during a joint police and immigration raid at Mwaliko Estate in Mwea town, following tips from residents about suspicious late-night activities.
The suspects, who claimed to be running an online business, had entered Kenya between 2021 and January 2025 and had expired entry passes. Detectives seized 21 mobile phones, 79 SIM cards, a Dell laptop, and 37 credit cards from various banks, indicating a sophisticated cyber fraud operation.
The Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) is investigating possible links to cross-border cybercrime syndicates, and the suspects are set to appear in court. This bust highlights Kenya’s efforts to combat cybercrime and immigration irregularities.
