The Nigerians in Diaspora Commission (NiDCOM) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with InnoPower Africa to boost job opportunities for young Nigerian professionals. The partnership aims to link skilled Nigerian youths with diaspora-owned businesses in the US, Canada, and the UK.
The initiative is expected to create remote job opportunities in sectors such as technology, healthcare, and finance. InnoPower Africa will provide thorough vetting, intensive skills development, cultural immersion, and continuous quality assurance through its Fast Track Virtual platform.
InnoPower Africa plans to deploy 10,000 youths in the next five years, with a focus on sectors such as technology, healthcare, and finance.
NiDCOM Chairman, Abike Dabiri-Erewa, stated that the collaboration aligns with the Federal Government’s commitment to reducing unemployment and leveraging the global Nigerian diaspora network. The partnership is expected to promote economic growth, cultural exchange, and professional development for Nigerian youths.
Additionally, NiDCOM has launched the Connected Diaspora Start-Up Challenge, a initiative aimed at harnessing the innovation and expertise of Nigerians across the globe. The challenge offers cash prizes of up to ₦1 million and is open to Nigerians living overseas.
