Bolt, the ride-hailing giant, is experiencing a surge in airport trips as thousands of travellers return to Nigeria for the festive season. Between November 20 and December 5, airport trips in Lagos climbed by 14.9%, while Abuja saw an even steeper rise of 17.56%.
The trend is a sign of Bolt’s growing role during Nigeria’s busiest travel period, with the platform providing reliable, convenient, and safe mobility to millions of passengers. Weyinmi Aghadiuno, Bolt’s Head of Regulatory & Policy for Africa, attributed the growth to the platform’s commitment to seamless airport pickups and excellent customer service.
To cope with the increased demand, Bolt has increased driver presence at key terminals, tightened pick-up coordination, and issued fresh safety reminders to riders and drivers. The platform’s Comfort category, featuring luggage-friendly cars, remains one of its most requested services.
As Detty December kicks off, Bolt is prepared to keep Nigeria moving, with increased driver availability, in-app safety features, and 24/7 customer support. “This season is all about connection, reuniting with loved ones and experiencing the best of Nigerian entertainment. Bolt is here to help people get to the heart of that experience, starting from the moment they land,” Aghadiuno said.
