Five Nigerians have been accused of masterminding a massive $45 million scam in the United States. The suspects include Oludayo Kola John Olabode, Oluwasegun Tobiloba Martins, Oluwatosin Emmanuel Martins, Ejiro Igho-Osagie, and a fifth suspect who remains at large.
Oludayo Kolawole John Olabode allegedly played a key role in the scam, using his company, Silver Spring Financial Services, to facilitate the fraud. Oluwasegun Tobiloba Martins and Oluwatosin Emmanuel Martins are also implicated in the scam, with authorities tracing funds to their accounts and alleging they worked together to launder funds. Ejiro Igho-Osagie allegedly used her accounts to receive and transfer funds.
The suspects allegedly used various tactics, including identity theft and fake financial documents, to deceive victims and gain access to their funds. The scam is believed to have been carried out over several years, with the suspects using the funds to purchase luxury items and properties.
The case is being investigated by the U.S Secret Service and other authorities, who are working to bring the suspects to justice. The investigation has led to the freezing of several bank accounts and the seizure of assets linked to the suspects.
