BREAKING: US Lawmaker Predicts End to Terrorism and Christian Genocide in Nigeria

US Congressman Rep. Riley M. Moore has expressed optimism that terrorism in Nigeria can be crushed if recent security agreements between the US and Nigeria are implemented. He believes that concrete steps and actions agreed upon during high-level talks can significantly enhance national security, disrupt terrorist organizations, and end the killing of Christians, particularly in the Middle Belt.

Rep. Moore’s visit to Nigeria is part of a fact-finding mission to assess the security situation and evaluate areas of partnership. He has met with Nigerian government officials, including National Security Adviser Nuhu Ribadu, and discussed ways to strengthen security cooperation and dismantle terrorist networks.

The US lawmaker has introduced a resolution in the House of Representatives condemning the persecution of Christians in Nigeria, citing reports of over 50,000 Christians killed since 2009 and 19,000 churches destroyed. The resolution calls for the Nigerian government to take immediate action to protect vulnerable Christian communities and for the US to provide support.

The Nigerian government has denied allegations of targeting Christians, stating that the security challenges affect people of all religions and regions. However, some US lawmakers and human rights groups argue that Christians are disproportionately affected by violence in Nigeria.
