The Federal Ministry of Education has launched the Diaspora BRIDGE Initiative, a digital platform connecting Nigerian academics and professionals in the diaspora with universities and research institutions across the country. This initiative aims to boost research output, foster academic collaboration, and strengthen institutional capacity by tapping into diaspora expertise.
The platform will enhance Nigeria’s academic reputation through globally indexed publications, drive industry-academic partnership, and commercialize innovations. It will also improve STEM-M education quality and employability, establishing Nigeria as a key player in global academic and industrial research collaborations.
The initiative was launched to provide a platform for Nigerian scholars and professionals abroad to engage directly with institutions in Nigeria, fostering partnership in Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics, and Medical Science (STEM-M).
