LATEST NEWS: Ooni of Ife Honoured as Emperor of Yoruba Kings in Africa & Diaspora

The Ooni of Ife, Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi, has received a prestigious title – “Emperor of Yoruba Kings in Africa and the Diaspora” – from Yoruba traditional rulers under Apapo Oba Yorubas in Africa and the Diaspora (AOYAD) in Benin Republic.

This honour recognizes the Ooni’s efforts in promoting Yoruba culture, heritage, and unity globally.The title was conferred at the Ile Oodua Palace in Ile-Ife, acknowledging the Ooni’s spiritual and cultural leadership. AOYAD President Adehoumi Kiffouli praised the Ooni’s commitment to strengthening bonds among Yoruba traditional institutions across borders.

In response, Ooni Ogunwusi expressed gratitude, describing the title as a celebration of the Yoruba race’s collective heritage. He emphasized the importance of unity among traditional rulers for cultural preservation and socio-economic collaboration.
