Edo State Governor, Monday Okpebholo, has appointed Osarodion Osagie, popularly known as Dion Osagie, as Senior Special Assistant on Diaspora Matters. This move aims to strengthen Edo State’s engagement with its global community and leverage diaspora expertise for development.

Osagie, founder of Godsent Foundation, has been a dedicated advocate for the Edo diaspora, promoting initiatives that benefit Nigeria and its diaspora. His appointment takes effect from January 26, 2026.

“I am deeply personal, it represents trust, confidence, and a call to service,” Osagie said, pledging to build strong connections between Edo State and its indigenes abroad, harnessing their skills, ideas, and resources for development and investment.

Governor Okpebholo’s administration has launched a transformative diaspora engagement strategy, targeting $7 billion in annual remittances from Edo indigenes worldwide. The initiative aims to promote economic revitalization, cultural renaissance, and community-driven development.
