Dr. Fabian Ihekweme has taken a significant step towards realizing his dream of representing OKIGWE Zone in the 2027 elections. The political stalwart paid a historic visit to his roots in Ikenanzizi, Obowo, accompanied by executives of his party, APGA, to officially declare his intention to run for the Senatorial seat.
In a heartfelt address, Dr. Ihekweme expressed gratitude to Ndi Ikenanzizi for their unwavering support during challenging times and sought their blessings and backing for his aspiration. He emphasized that the visit was crucial in sharing his vision with his people and receiving their endorsement before taking it to the wider public.
The event was attended by prominent figures, including a former House of Representatives member, Hon. Kingsley Dimaku, who praised Dr. Ihekweme’s decision and urged Ndi Ikenanzizi to rally behind him.
The Ikenanzizi Development Associations (IDA) President General, High Chief Titus Uzor, a revered retired Police Chief, expressed the community’s joy and happiness at the prospect of Ihekweme leading them, assuring Dr. Ihekweme of Ikenanzizi’s endorsement and total support.
Selected Ikenanzizi Elders and leaders unanimously endorsed his dream, putting aside party differences and affiliations. They urged sons and daughters of Ikenanzizi to rally around their illustrious son, ensuring his aspiration comes through in 2027.
The visit ended on a high note, with Ihekweme receiving the community’s blessing and support.
