Matthew Akinpelu, a Nigerian-born tech entrepreneur, has launched ISCANET, an AI-driven platform designed to address the challenges faced by African students and skilled migrants navigating education and employment opportunities abroad. Based in the UK, Akinpelu’s initiative aims to provide structured guidance on career readiness, employability, and visa-regulated job markets.
The platform, which has recorded over 15,000 registered users from more than 60 countries, offers clear information on study pathways, career options, and immigration requirements. Akinpelu’s personal experience of relocating from Nigeria and facing limited access to information inspired the project.
ISCANET and its sister platform, AfriApply, seek to reduce misinformation and support users in making informed decisions about their international education and career pursuits. Akinpelu acknowledges the challenges of operating across multiple countries, particularly with changing immigration policies, and plans to improve data accuracy and expand access to information.
