LATEST NEWS: Turkey Eases Visa Process for Nigerian Business Travellers

Turkey has announced a new visa policy aimed at boosting economic ties with Nigeria. The Turkish Embassy in Abuja will now issue visas directly to Nigerian business travellers without requiring prior authorization from Ankara.

This move is expected to deepen commercial engagement between the two countries, making it easier for Nigerian entrepreneurs to visit Turkey for business purposes. According to Turkish Ambassador Mehmet Poroy, the new policy will facilitate people-to-people and businessman-to-businessman contact between Nigeria and Turkey.

The Nigerian Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, welcomed the move, stating that it would remove obstacles for Nigerian business travellers. Turkey is also planning to open a Consulate-General in Lagos to further strengthen diplomatic and commercial ties.

This development is part of Turkey’s efforts to enhance economic cooperation with Nigeria, which has significant trade potential. The new visa policy is expected to increase business mobility and investment flows between the two countries.
