LATEST NEWS: Two India-based Nigerians Face the Music for Visa Violation

Two Nigerian nationals, Onyeukwu Victor and Sylvenda Khasoha, are facing deportation from India for violating their visa terms. Victor, a 28-year-old from Enugu State, was deported by the Hyderabad police in November 2025 for overstaying his student visa, which expired in 2024. He was allegedly involved in drug peddling, contacting suppliers and delivering substances to customers in Hyderabad and Bengaluru.

Khasoha, on the other hand, was deported in January 2026 for having an expired visa. She was found to be living lavishly and engaging in unlawful activities, including drug peddling and flesh trade, with fake passports and visas.

These incidents are part of a larger crackdown on visa violations and drug trafficking in India. In December 2025, 32 Nigerians were deported over alleged drug peddling, and 50 Nigerians were arrested in a coordinated crackdown on a transnational narcotics network.

The Hyderabad Narcotics Enforcement Wing (H-NEW) has urged people to stay vigilant against drug abuse and report any information related to narcotics.
