LATEST NEWS: Ghana Nabs 48 Nigerian Nationals in Cybercrime Crackdown

In a major operation on December 24, 2025, Ghana’s Cyber Security Authority (CSA), in collaboration with National Security and the Ghana Police Service, arrested 48 suspected cybercriminals, believed to be Nigerian nationals, at Dawhenya.

The suspects, comprising 46 men and two women, are linked to romance scams, online investment fraud, impersonation schemes, and illicit online gold trading. Authorities seized 54 laptops, 39 mobile phones, a Starlink internet device, and eight MTN TurboNet routers.

“Ghana will remain a hostile domain for cybercriminals,” said Minister of Communications, Samuel Nartey George, emphasizing the government’s commitment to tackling cybercrime.

One suspected ringleader, Autin Osas, remains at large as investigations continue. The CSA urges the public to report cybercrime cases via its 24-hour reporting points.
