The Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS) has announced a scheduled downtime of its Passport Digital Platform from 12:00am on December 12, 2025, to 6:00am on December 14, 2025, due to routine maintenance, repair, and upgrade work.
During this period, users may experience disruptions in services, including inability to access the passport portal, slow loading times, and interrupted payment and booking functionality. The NIS has assured applicants that the maintenance is essential for improving system stability, responsiveness, and user experience.
The NIS has advised applicants to complete any urgent passport applications or bookings before the downtime and to allow extra time to download necessary documents or receipts. Applicants can reach out to the NIS Support Team via email at support@immigration.gov.ng or through official social media channels @nigimmigration on X, Instagram, and Facebook.
The NIS has also activated temporary complaint-response channels on social media, including X handles @InquireAtNaija, @nigimmigration, and @InquireAtNaija_, as well as Instagram, to ensure uninterrupted communication with applicants.
The maintenance is expected to enhance the overall security and efficiency of the digital passport ecosystem, and the NIS has appealed for patience and understanding from applicants during this period.
