LATEST NEWS: Nigeria Diaspora Community Makes History

The Ebonyi State Association in Greater Manchester, UK, recently held its inaugural Annual General Meeting (AGM), marking a significant milestone in strengthening diaspora engagement and supporting Nigeria’s broader human capital initiatives. The AGM brought together professionals, students, and community leaders, formalizing the Association as a Community Interest Incorporated Company (CIIC) and establishing an official bank account to boost transparency and accountability.

The Association’s President, Mr. Ndukwe Ugwuocha, commended Governor Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru’s visionary human capital strategy, which positions Ebonyi as a state investing in future-ready skills to drive national innovation. The AGM also celebrated the Association’s successful coordination of Ebonyi State’s participation in the 2025 Manchester Igbo Iri Ji Festival, promoting the state’s culture on an international stage.

A key highlight was the induction of Ebonyi State Government-sponsored scholarship students studying in the UK, who will receive mentorship, welfare support, and guidance while pursuing studies in technology, innovation, and other critical sectors. The Association reaffirmed its commitment to unity, diaspora engagement, and strengthening Ebonyi’s contribution to Nigeria’s global identity.
