In a bid to empower the youth and women of Obowo, Ahiazu Mbaise, and Ideato South, the Obowo Development Trust Fund, in partnership with SpringAid International Development, has launched a groundbreaking initiative – the Business Training Grant. This ambitious project aims to equip 1200 beneficiaries with the necessary skills and resources to thrive in today’s competitive market.
The initiative, which kicked off with a training program, will also feature a business challenge where successful participants will receive grants to kickstart their entrepreneurial journey. SpringAid Nigeria and Obowo Development Trust Fund will identify and invest in innovative business ideas from the participants, providing them with the much-needed support to turn their dreams into reality.
But that’s not all. The Obowo Development Trust Fund will also provide micro-credit facilities to the tune of 50 million Naira to participants over the next three years. This financial support will go a long way in empowering the beneficiaries to establish and grow their businesses, contributing to the economic growth of their communities.
SpringAid International Development, the organization behind this initiative, is an international development organization with a presence in four countries – Cameroon, United Kingdom, Nigeria, and Sweden. Founded in Sweden in 2008 by Chikezie Onuoha, SpringAid Nigeria has its head office in Owerri and an Entrepreneurship Development Centre in Amato, Alike, Ikenenzizi, Obowo. The organization is led by its Executive Director, Arc Teddy Ihens.
